Diego Martín Garrido

Mr. Diego M. Garrido graduated as a lawyer at Universidad Católica Argentina in 1993 and received an LL.M. from Duke University School of Law in 1997. He co-founded the firm in 2005, after having worked for another important Buenos Aires firm (Allende & Brea), where he was a partner, for the New York firm Davis Polk & Wardwell and for the Rome firm Gianni Origoni & Partners.
Mr. Diego M. Garrido has worked in a wide range of business legal matters. He was actively involved in the mining industry for international companies and also in the oil industry after the privatization of the state owned company YPF. During the late 1990s, he formed part of the Internet team that helped hundreds of start-up companies in the round of investments with international investors. For many years, he advised aircraft manufacturers in the lease of aircrafts to argentine airline companies. In the late years, he has advised several real estate developers and trust companies all along their projects, beginning with the land acquisition and following with the governmental permitting, the financing and the commercialization. His practice has always included a continued activity in mergers and acquisitions, having participated in many national and international transactions, either for private equity funds, venture capital funds, strategic acquisitions by multinationals and also for local investors. Recently, his practice included full legal advice in the entertainment business for a regional entertainment company.
Mr. Diego M. Garrido has also worked pro-bono, serving for more than 11 years as director of CIPPEC, the most prestigious Argentina think tank, which is ranked first in Argentina by the University of Pennsylvania and among the 20 most relevant think tanks in domestic economic policy in the world.
